🎨 Welcome to The Funky Easel (by Wild Raspberry)

 

Creative nights out for grown-ups who need a little space to breathe, play, and paint something unexpected.

 

We’ve always been about making art feel like home.

It all began in my home studio in 2006—Wild Raspberry started small, but full of heart. By 2007, Amanda joined me and we opened our first shop: a joyful little space where people of all ages came to explore creativity—through pottery painting, textile printing, mosaic making, découpage… if it was hands-on and colourful, we probably ran a workshop for it.

 

Before long, we became known for our baby keepsakes—those hand and foot prints on mugs, plates, and baubles that became part of so many family stories. And while we no longer have a bricks-and-mortar shop (we closed our last one on Jimmy’s Farm just before the pandemic), we still offer mobile keepsake appointments, especially at Christmas—because who can resist those tiny toes on a bauble?

 

But here’s where things shifted…

Where creativity meets connection—and the wine is just a bonus.

 

In 2019, we dabbled with something new: Paint and Sip nights, first in our studio, then in gardens, village halls, and eventually in pubs and venues across Suffolk.

 

After lockdown, it became clear—this was the thing.

 

The Funky Easel has grown from a side project to a fully-fledged passion. Now, it’s what I (Rebecca) do best: guiding people—especially adults—back to their creative spark. You don’t need to be “good at art.” You just need to show up.

 

With 25+ years of experience—from running a textile studio in London to teaching on foundation courses and leading community workshops—I know how powerful it is to sit down with a brush, a story, and a splash of colour.
